The last time I posted was in JULY!!! I cannot believe that the year has gone so fast. I thought I would have more free time now that the CFP studying is over, but I have filled that with networking groups and PTO. Yes, I joined the PTO…well I was recruited. Ok I was forced, but the group is nice and not too time consuming. Plus at least I know what is going on at school, so I am more in the loop than I was before. I also joined a women’s networking group to meet new people and gain some confidence with my new role as CFP®. Next year, I will be focusing on growing my business and working more with clients directly. I am very excited about this as I love working with people.
Cora needs glasses. One of the first blogs I ever wrote was about Cora possibly needing glasses and how I felt like a failure. I don’t feel like a failure now that she really does need them, so much as I worry about her keeping them on and adjusting to her new normal. We get her glasses tomorrow but below is a sneak peek of how adorable she is with her new purple glasses. I got new glasses too as my eyes are getting worse with age. Yeah! I am in pre bifocals so that is fun…and expensive. So far Charlie is the only one that can see without assistance in the house, but I plan on having him checked as well to be safe.
We parted ways with our long-time daycare providers. There was no longer a spot due to the kids both being in school. They had the kids since they were each 3 months old. We were very close to them, and we were heartbroken when we were told we could no longer be apart of the daycare. I have tried to find a replacement, but that proves difficult. I put an ad in the school newsletter and got some responses, but I do not know how they will pan out yet. Mostly it was for date-night sitters, which we desperately need as well. My friend took them for fall break and the kids had a blast, but unfortunately that isn’t a permanent solution. Anyways, we are left without a place for our kids, and I just want them to be somewhere safe so that they can have fun, and I know they are being loved. I’ll keep you updated.
Now it’s the holidays! With Thanksgiving 2 days away and Christmas not far behind that. I am pretty prepared for Christmas as I got most of my shopping done early and we cut back on gifts this year for the kids as we went overboard last year. Cora is getting a Barbie Dream House that I got for a fair price on Facebook Marketplace as her big gift and Charlie is getting these magnetic Minecraft blocks, he can play with in real life and not just on a screen. Shhhh! Don’t tell them. I have decorated the house for Christmas. I couldn’t wait. Thanksgiving is so late this year that I felt I needed the joy early. I have not put the tree up yet and I will wait until Black Friday to appease my husband.
I hope you have a great holiday season, and I will see you in the new year for more fun and laughter!
