When Graham Stone (Guy Pearce) is released on parole from prison he is assigned to live at Gates. After a few days he meets Ethan, and falls for him. They hit it off really well till it happened. Ethan has a girlfriend Sarah (Mia Wasikowska) and Graham's father Stan (Michael Shannon) a vagabond who runs a hole in the wall bar called Balls and Buffez. Ethan has to move in with the family. When Graham goes missing Sarah knows something's up as a bond begins to form between the three of them. Nasty, wild, serious, bloody, disgusting, goofy, disturbing, and ultimately life altering happens. This is more of an art house film than a comedic, yet this movie is no comedy. This movie is a hard hitting film in a time now where we are used to comedies of all kinds. It has a dramatic edge to it that just does not suit the bizarre script. This is a movie you should watch for the technical features, acting and cinematography. It is not a popcorn type of movie.
Review: The idea of a movie with two babies in it was so obvious, but I think that the director got carried away with that concept. Being a horror movie, the movie tries to be just like a comedy.Anyway, the two babies are played by real babies, and they are used to try and scare the life out of the audience. The story revolves around the two babies being neglected and abused by their biological parents, especially the giants one.The story comes off as having the audience laugh at the giant baby and then go, 'ew' when it tries to kill the two babies. When the baby tries to kill the baby, it is as gay as it can get, never mind being hilarious. The music is cheesy and the acting leaves a lot to be desired as well. It doesn't come off as being especially scary either, although you do get a few moments that's pretty good, but not anything worth remembering. When the giant baby tries to kill the babies, it tries too hard, and you can't tell if you are scared or laughing. It is disturbing and that's the problem with the movie, and it also a fails because the shots are just a little bit out of focus. d2c66b5586
