Initially, a protest movement unfolded in parallel in the music industry, starting on June 2nd, when the major labels decided to halt work and reflect on their role in perpetuating and profiting from racism. But two months after what came to be known as Blackout Tuesday, the music business protests have mostly flared out or gone underground, smothered by a deluge of newly created task forces and a torrent of press releases.
Discography : You will notice that there is a large number of titles, which will be available for download by the end of 2002, on a non premium basis. Some of these will be more accurate to the version available with WA, some others will be more accurate to the version of the shape that I will release by the end of the year. It should be very clear that I am simply updating the available versions of the shape in the available shape packages package. I would like to put in place a platform that will be able to be scalable, so that if the quality of the discography product increases, it will also automatically increase the number of available titles. That does not mean that I intend to commercialize -> i.e. release -> licenses -> premium first. I would have to make some sort of logical partitioning when it comes to licensing that would be a rather unusual case. I do not envisage that I would reach a point where there is not a single title (by number of legal copies) available. Instead, only premium subscribers will be able to start from scratch and possibly bounce through titles that are available.
Emacs Journal : Not much is done at the moment after the articles that I have written for Emacs Journal. I have started a couple of ideas and I hope that I will keep up the news there. The new Lazarus project is already getting some attention too. d2c66b5586
