Ok, I found another known problem with the latest Windows 10 Insider Preview build (14393). This is related to the fact that Endpoint software from Sophos UTM removes the DVD-drive when it is installed. This can be solved by removing Endpoint software from your PC. You have to go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Programs and Features > Programs and Features. In the left window of Programs and Features, you have to find the name of the software you are searching. Right click the name and in the right window (in the window that opens up) you have to remove the name. Just select OK and then OK. Done.
Also, if you use the latest Windows 10 Insider Preview build (14393) in case of problems like the one I described above and you are using the DVD-drive, don't forget to remove the Endpoint software from your PC. It could also be useful to remove the software, because a computer has a DVD-drive and does not install any software that removes it, but the software simply does not work. This could happen for example if the Endpoint software from Sophos UTM removes the DVD-drive from the system and then you update the Windows 10 Insider Preview version.
Luckily for me I found a solution for this. The DVD-drive was indeed working without a problem, but it was not recognized as a DVD-drive. The reason was that Endpoint software from Sophos UTM apparently was installed on my PC and this software removed the DVD-drive from the system. So I reinstalled the DVD-drive to its original location and now it is working as expected as a DVD-drive.
So, after cleaning the drive and restarting my PC (had to do that, because I was out of icons and couldn't find the DVD-drive icon anymore) it was present, but I was not able to play or rip any DVDs on it. Instead of being an expected DVD device it showed up as an external drive and played all DVDs even if a DVD is inserted when the DVD-drive is showing.
It only seems to be a DVD-drive issue as from a Windows 10 Home build before the latest Insider build I have, it is working fine. Not sure why it is working fine on that build, but not on the latest Insider build.
When the DVD-drive is missing, the application Windows Explorer is not finding any way to access the DVD-drive. If you are able to see the DVD-drive, there is no CD/DVD in it (possibly because you did not burn a copy of Windows).
Troubleshooting: This fix uses command line tools. In a command prompt window you first have to run the regsvr32 /u command to register the dll files. Then you run the regsvr32 /u /force command to re-register the system dlls.
