It is not quite as easy to use the Garmin eTrex Vista as the other units, mainly because it appears to be missing at least a few of the required libraries. I got the Greenplum wifi 'bridge' running on the eTrex through a Linux installation (Ubuntu 16.04) and Android phone (Android 9). This required hacking Garmin's DeviceSupport package and replacing a few files.
Developing drivers was not too bad. You can compile drivers and modules into the kernel, and include them with your program. Using non-standard interfaces like keyboard and mouse controls adds a level of complexity, but it is not that difficult if you understand Linux. The information you require is in the Linux kernel source code.
After test a few and/or successful waypoints I would recommend saving a complete backup. Thus you have a ready provided backup file with the same waypoints you would download from the software. You can do this by pressing 'Delete Backup File'.
After you fill your waypoints you should go back to QLandkarte, switch the Ribbon \"Automatic Download\" to ON and select \"Import Waypoints\" (Figure 1.). If it doesn't work with the current firmware, you may have to create a backup file in another drive before you import (see description and Figure 3). 7211a4ac4a
